Drum Solo, Sonia Style - mix level
Sonia has had the great privilege of performing drum solos with some of the best drummers around the world.
Over the years, she has been gifted with a vast vocabulary of rhythms and dance technique.
In this workshop, Sonia will break down and drill intricate hip and torso movements, along with upper body and arm
stylizations typically used in a drum solo. Chombinations will be set to various rhythms, which will be explained and Sonia
will encourage studentsto find their ownidentity through short segments of improvisation.

Flamenco-Árabe
In this workshop, you will be introduced to a series of thoughtfully combined flamenco and arab dance movements, honing an awareness of upper and lower body
isolations and coordination. Powerful postures comprised of arm and hand movements will be combined with basic footwork, traveling floor patterns, and dynamic spins.
The dramatic mood and vocabulary acquired in this workshop can greatly complement any dance style. Please feel free to bring a skirt! NO shoes are required.

Modern Oriental Style
With over 20 years of experience, Sonia has studied and performed various interpretations of belly dance (Raqs Sharqi) across the globe. In this workshop, Sonia will
share with you some of her favorite techniques and phrases inspired by a selection modern Egyptian styles. She will guide you through a classical ballet warm-up,
followed by drills which include traveling steps, turns, and intricate hip-work, whilst encouraging an elegant and graceful upper body.
Please wear comfortable dance wear.
